General Terms and Conditions

The contracting party is Verkehrsunfallforschung an der TU Dresden GmbH, Semperstr. 2a, 01069 Dresden ("VUFO" or "we" or "us"). The customer ("customer" or "you") is any natural or legal person who wishes to participate in our further education events, seminars or training courses themselves or who wishes to send employees of their company to such events. The conclusion of contracts with natural persons who do not wish to participate in continuing education courses in the exercise of their commercial or self-employed professional activities (consumers within the meaning of § 13 BGB) is excluded. Our offer is directed exclusively at entrepreneurs within the meaning of § 14 BGB and their employees.

Registration for VUFO training courses can be made in writing or electronically by a customer informing us of their intention to participate in a planned training course. After receiving the request, we will check whether there are still places available for the desired course and then submit a concrete offer of participation to the customer, which can be accepted by the customer within the period specified in the offer. If acceptance is not received within the deadline, we may still confirm participation but are not obliged to do so.

Some of our offers require that specific participants have personal qualifications (e.g., attendance at other continuing education events or professional qualifications and degrees). Each customer is informed of this in the offer and confirms with their declaration of acceptance that the participants have the required qualifications. We are therefore entitled to request proof of qualification from all participants before the course is carried out. If this cannot be provided, the participants in question will be excluded from the event. In this case, the customer may cancel their registration in accordance with Section 5.

The agreed participation fee is payable on the basis of the invoice issued by VUFO and the payment terms specified therein. Unless otherwise specified on the invoice, payment is due 14 days after the invoice date. All prices are exclusive of statutory value added tax.

Registration can be canceled free of charge up to 4 weeks before the event. For cancellations up to 14 days before the event, 60% of the participation fee is payable. If the cancellation is made less than 14 days before the event, 80% of the participation fee is payable. If no cancellation is made by the day of the training, the full participation fee is payable.

Cancellations must be made in writing, whereby electronic notification to weiterbildung@vufo.de is also permitted.

Each customer is permitted to send participants other than those originally planned until the start of the first lesson of the booked training course.

For courses with necessary prerequisites, the alternative participants must also have the required qualifications and be able to provide proof of these.

Participants and, where applicable, third parties are prohibited from making recordings or transcripts during events or from publishing such recordings or transcripts. If the contract is concluded between the employer/company of a participant and VUFO, the employer/company must oblige the participant accordingly.

Further training events may be canceled for reasons beyond VUFO's control or if the number of participants is too low. In this case, customers will be notified immediately and any participation fees already paid will be refunded. Reimbursement of expenses incurred by the customer in reliance on the event taking place (e.g., costs for accommodation and travel) is excluded, unless VUFO is responsible for the reason for the cancellation.

VUFO expressly reserves the right to make changes to the event schedule and to change lecturers.

VUFO endeavors to provide error-free documentation and qualified lecturers for its continuing education programs. However, VUFO cannot accept any liability for errors in the documentation or mistakes made by lecturers, nor for any event content. All documents are protected by copyright and only simple rights of use are granted to the training documents, insofar as these are necessary for participants to apply the knowledge they have learned.

The data provided to VUFO is stored electronically and only passed on to third parties if this is necessary for the implementation of the training program (e.g., data transfer to lecturers and cooperation partners, lecturers). Further information on this can also be found in our data protection information at www.vufo.de/datenschutz

The place of jurisdiction for any disputes that may arise is agreed to be Dresden. Any agreements deviating from these provisions must be made in writing. Unless specific provisions have been made above, the general legal provisions apply. The invalidity of individual provisions or parts thereof shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
